HAPPY 1 YEAR BIRTHDAY SUPER AWESOME TAKI GIRL!!!
i can’t believe that a year has passed since her birth. we didn’t get her until june, for obvious reasons, but it was beautiful chemistry when we met. i know she’s not my ‘child’; in lots of ways, she is though. i feed her, bathe her, play with her, take her out to do her business, give her love and affection, discipline her, sleep and nap with her, laugh with her, scold her, stare deep into her gorgeous eyes, and take a gazillion photos of her. i can go on and on and on about my dog! :) she provides this unconditional love that only a canine can give; it’s warm and gushy and fun and completely intentional. to think, i was a bit on the scared side about getting a dog. pretty much apprehensive. i haven’t been a pet owner for years and was afraid that i wouldn’t have enough time to give, attention to furnish, worried about neglecting the little thing, etc… so not the case! sighhh… the pics posted aren’t my ‘favorites’ but ones that i totally adore among, as i said earlier, a gazillion!

went to target today and found some digs for the doggy. i usually run through the “$1” spot right when you walk through the door and came across a bunch of dog stuff, mostly clothes. each item was only $2.50! amped! i used think differently of clothes for dogs.. but now, i realized and have learned that this little canine of mine ‘gets cold’ and an extra layer of something on her is good. especially here and at this time of the year. she’s so rad. got her to pose and it nearly melt my heart. can’t believe how much i adore her.

my blog whore. my personal leg warmer. my bff. my bitch. this is her spot when i’m laptopping… always. this is the ultimate benefit to having a lap/small canine. funny, how her ears are still straight up even when asleep. hella <3 her! :)

taki at the indoor dog park…
it’s been pouring out all day long. by all day, i mean, allll day. probably since the middle of the night and it’s still sprinkling out. we decided to let the pup stretch her legs and run around at the local indoor dog park (such a cool little place, inside of a nursery/pet store and FREE). the last two times we went, there were less than 3 dogs there and they were all pretty small in size. today, however, she was certainly in for a treat. she walked into, already playing, 2 young pugglle’s (mia and bella), one young boxer (macey) and a pomeranian (name unknown) - i believe. taki was a bit skiddish and wasn’t sure what to do. i knew she wanted to play but the other dogs were so much bigger than she was she went into defense mode first before play mode. she kind of let loose here and there but ultimately was on the defense. she’s been around big dogs, but not large doses. she wasn’t bowing down to any of the dogs. it was kinda awesome…
AND THEN… in walked (what the lady at the counter called a ‘newfie’ named diesel) one of THE most biggest dogs i’ve ever laid eyes on… i’ve seen great danes up close, but this pooch and it’s hair and size was a sight. too bad it was stinky. (please excuse the commentary.. haha)>.<

to own a small, adorable, cuddly dog…
… means that there is no longer such a thing as ‘sleeping in.’ my dog thinks she’s human. she sleeps with me in bed, on her back and at times with her head on my pillow. love it. but, like clockwork (and like a human baby), she’s up at 7ish am and is ready to be taken out! i haven’t slept a full 8 hrs in months… but i’m alright with that. here’s Taki rockin’ her GAP sweatshirt… new england is getting cold and she’ll be the first to feel it.
